Pacific Schooner Wawona by Harriet Tracy De Long

The definitive history of the former lumber schooner turned cod fishing boat, Wawona, this book packs 158 pages of photos, history, and accounts from her crew, chronicling the construction, working years, and retirement of the vessel. Lost to old age, Wawona is survived by her sister ship, the C.A. Thayer, which has been undergoing a complete renovation under the guidance of the National Parks Service. Thayer can be seen at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.
